While iPhone runs the show in the US and a few other smartphone markets across the world, Tecno reigns as the smartphone king in Africa and arguably in the Middle East.
The launch of the Tecno Camon CX in Kenya this week has triggered a lot of talking points amongst smartphone enthusiasts and at the climax of it is the comparison between the Camon CX and the iPhone 7. Here is how they stand side-by side:
Camera Specifications – Forget it, the CAMON CX is still the market leader
When you think about the buzz the iPhone 7 created on the Internet at the time of its release, one would expect that the device will debut significant improvement from its predecessor especially in terms of its cameras but unfortunately, it didn’t. Unsurprisingly on the other hand, the Camon CX experienced a major advancement in camera technology and design as compared to its predecessor. The Camon CX comes with a stunning 16MP dual camera and dual flashlights while the iPhone 7 still managed a 7MP front and 12MP rear camera. Now let’s forget about the camera specifications for a while and focus on images captured using these devices.
As you can see below, due to the dual flashlights of Camon CX front camera, the Camon CX Selfies are sharper, shinier and makes the skin appear brighter.
Even under lowlight, the Camon CX captures better images than the iPhone 7 and uniformly distributes light in the environment making selfies taken at night clear and well lit.
Device extras –Battery capacity, screen size and processor
Though the Camon CX and iPhone 7 both run on different operating systems –Android and iOS respectively, they still have several similar hardware components though with different ratings. For instance, the Camon CX carries 3200mAh battery and 5.5’’ FHD display screen as against iPhone 7’s 1960mAh battery and 4.7” screen.
A quad-core processor powers both devices. By and large, while both devices are impressive however, when it comes to camera advancement and image optimization under lowlight, the Camon CX surpasses the iPhone 7 clearly.
