Arsene Wenger Issues Major Update On Alexis Sanchez’s Future Amid Chelsea Interest
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted Alexis Sanchez will not be leaving the club in the near future following reports that Chelsea have entered negotiations with his agent.
Reports in RMC Sport claim that the Blues have started talks with Sanchez’s agent regarding a move to the Stamford Bridge during the next summer transfer window amid interest from Paris Saint Germain who are also believed to be in the race to sign the 28-year-old.
Arsene Wenger has however come out to dismiss such claims with his latest message, clearing the air about Sanchez imminent departure. The Frenchman said: ‘He has one and a half years left on his contract – I don’t see what’s new,
‘We are professional football people. Our job is to perform as long as were somewhere. When I sign a contract I commit to it until the final day.
‘I do not understand the anxiety. It’s denying what the professional guy is about.’
Alexis Sanchez was quoted last week by a Chilean outlet that he wants to remain in London, but with a winning team, which further fuelled speculations that he fancies a move to the Stamford Bridge.
